Deepening the Economic and Monetary Union after the onset of the global financial crisis in 2008 remains one of the European key priorities.

In addition, EUSCP continues to monitor fiscal imbalances for the Stability and Growth Pact, which is a set of rules designed to ensure that countries in the European Union pursue sound public finances and coordinate their fiscal policies.
